Sinwell Tower closed until further notice

Due to construction work, the Sinwell Tower is closed to the public until further notice. We ask for your understanding for the restriction.


Opening hours

April to September: daily 9 am-6 pm
October to March: daily 10 am-4 pm
last entry: 30 minutes before the stated closing time

Public holidays: The Imperial Castle is only closed on 1 January, Shrove Tuesday, 24 / 25 / 31 December

April to October: from 8 am at the earliest until nightfall (8 pm at the latest)
closed November-March

Maria Sibylla Merian Garden
Every Sunday and Monday as follows:
April-September: 2 pm-6 pm / October: 2 pm-4 pm
closed November-March

Guided tours

In the Palas, the Imperial Castle Museum and the Sinwell Tower there are no guided tours; visitors can go around on their own.

Palas / audio guide

There is an audio guide available in German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Czech to the exhibition at the Palas (2 euros per person plus admission).

Deep Well

The visit of the Deep Well is only possible with a guided tour. There are guided tours (in German) from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm (in winter from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm) every half hour. We offer guided tours for groups in English on request. If you are interested, please contact our local office.
